Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a flats in St James Way, Sidcup.
Most of a four-roomed flat on the second floor was damaged by the fire. Firefighters rescued one man from the second floor flat via a ladder. He was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.
The Brigade was called at 0317 and the fire was under control by 0436. Fire crews from Sidcup, Bexley and Orpington fire stations attended the scene.
