Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a recycling centre on Jenkins Lane, East Ham.
A small amount of domestic waste was destroyed in the blaze.
The Brigade was called at 1619 and the fire was under control at 1922. Fire crews from Barking, East Ham, and Ilford fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
