Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a flat on The Waldrons in Croydon.
Part of a four-roomed flat on the eighth floor of an 11-storey block was damaged by the fire. Around 13 people left the building before the Brigade arrived. One woman and one child were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by London Ambulance Service crews.
The Brigade was called at 1311 and the fire was under control by 1348. Fire crews from Croydon, Wallington and Brixton fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
