Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a haulage site in Beddington Lane, Croydon.

A digger and two shipping containers were destroyed by fire.

The fire is not connected to the gas leak further along the same road.

The Brigade was called at 1447 and the fire was under control at 1630. Fire crews from Wimbledon, Addington, Brixton and Sutton fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
