Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a disused paper processing factory in River Road, Barking.

A large pile of waste paper being stored outside was destroyed by the blaze. Fortunately there were no reports of any injuries.

The Brigade was called at 1828 and the fire was under control by 1950. Fire crews from Barking, East Ham and Plaistow stations attended the incident.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
