Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a flat fire in a five-storey residential and commercial block on Summers Street in Farringdon.
Part of a four-roomed flat on the first floor was damaged by the fire. A man and woman left the flat before the Brigade arrived. They were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by London Ambulance Service crews. A further 10 people left a commercial unit on the ground floor before the Brigade arrived.
The Brigade's 999 Control Officers took 14 calls to the fire.
The Brigade was called at 1259 and the fire was under control by 1418. Fire crews from Soho , Euston and Shoreditch fire stations attended the scene.
