Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a shop with flats above in Brick Lane, E1.
Half of the ground floor shop was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 0906 and the fire was under control at 0959. Fire crews from Shoreditch, Bethnal Green, Whitechapel and Shadwell fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
