Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a range of garden sheds and out buildings in Grierson Road, Crofton Park.

A shed and fence were destroyed by the fire and two further sheds, fencing, decking, windows and fascia of an adjacent property were also damaged.

Firefighters removed a propane cylinder and cooled it to an ambient temperature as cylinders can explode when exposed to heat. There were no reports of any injuries.

The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers took 21 calls to the fire.

The Brigade was called at 1831 and the fire was under control at 2001. Fire crews from Forest Hill, Old Kent Road, Peckham and Deptford fire stations attended the scene.
