Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a metal recycling plant in Bidder Street, Canning Town.
Approximately eight to ten tonnes of palleted batteries were damaged by fire.
The Brigade was called at 0231 and the fire was under control at 0424. Fire crews from Poplar, Plaistow, Stratford and Millwall fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
