Firefighters from the London Fire Brigade attended reports of a woman in her twenties being the victim of a noxious substance attack. Firefighters hosed the woman down to try and remove as much of the substance as possible.
The Met Police and London Ambulance Service were also at the scene.
The Brigade was called to Brixton Road at 1349 and the incident was over for fire crews at 1435.
