A shop was damaged by fire on Sunday night on Woodgrange Road in Forest Gate E7.

Watch Manager Jason Youngman from Stratford Fire Station was in charge of the incident, he said: “Luckily no one was injured. Crews worked hard at the scene to prevent the fire from spreading to other shops.”

Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers from Stratford, Leytonstone, Plaistow and East Ham attended the incident.

The Brigade was called at 2343 and the fire was under control by 0120.

The Brigade’s fire investigators believe the fire started accidentally and was started in a plug socket.
