Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a restaurant with flats above in Charlotte Street in Fitzrovia.
A small part of the basement of the restaurant was damaged by fire.
The Brigade was called at 0534 and the fire was under control at 0718. Fire crews from Soho, Paddington and Euston
The cause of the fire is believed to be the accidental ignition of food left cooking overnight.
