Firefighters have now left the scene of a gas leak in Horesferry Road and Regency Street in Pimlico.
A 50m cordon and road closures were put in place as a precaution and around 100 people were evacuated.
The Brigade was called at 1907 on Tuesday (9 January).
Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers initially attended the scene and two fire engines remained there standing by to assist the Metropolitan Police Service and the gas company. They left the scene at 0050 this morning (12 January).
Horseferry Road has now reopened in both directions.
