Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a house fire on Station Road in Kingston this morning.

The entire two storey end-of-terrace derelict house was completely destroyed by the fire. No injuries are reported.

Watch Manager Tamer Ozdemir was at the scene and said: “On arrival crews arrived to a well-developed fire with flames and smoke coming out of all the windows. Crews worked hard to contain the fire to house of origin and successfully stopped it spreading to the neighbouring adjacent property."

The building was declared structurally unstable due to concerns around the stability of the remaining roof structure and the chimney stack.

The Brigade was called at 0525 and the fire was under control by 0710. Fire crews from Surbiton, Kingston and New Malden fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by fire officers and the police.
