Two fire engines and 14 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a house in Carnarvon Drive in Hayes this morning (January 28).
A small part of the ground floor of the property was damaged by fire.
One woman was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews where she later sadly died.
The Brigade was called at 0509 and the fire was under control by 0550. Fire crews from Hayes and Heathrow fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and Metropolitan Police Service.
