Five fire engines and around 35 firefighters were called to a flat fire on Fairmont Avenue in Canary Wharf.
Part of a flat on the sixth floor was damaged by fire.
The Brigade was called at 1819 and the fire was under control by 2029. Fire crews from Poplar, Millwall, Plaistow and Shadwell fire stations were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
