Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a car hire and sales yard in Autumn Street in Stratford this afternoon.
Two shipping containers were damaged by fire. One seven kilogramme propane cylinder and one three kilogramme argoshield cylinder were cooled to ambient temperature and removed from the scene.
The Brigade was called at 1744 and the fire was under control at 1926. Fire crews from Bethnal Green, Homerton and Poplar fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
