Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a café in Lambeth Road in Lambeth.
Part of the basement of the three-storey building was damaged.
The Brigade was called at 1242 and the fire was under control at 1407. Fire crews from Lambeth, Dowgate, Old Kent Road and Brixton fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
