Wood Green - restaurant fire

Two fire engines and 10 firefighters and officers were called to fire at a restaurant and dwellings in Lordship Lane, Wood Green.

The fire was near Wood Green underground station and Brigade Control Officers took more than 10 calls about it.

A fryer on the ground floor was destroyed and half of the ducting from the ground to the second floor was damaged.

Eight people had left the building before the arrival of the Brigade. There were no reports of any injuries.

The Brigade was called at 1029 and the fire was under control at 1142. Fire crews from Hornsey and Tottenham fire stations are at the scene.

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental and cooking related.
