Both were brought to safety by crews using a short extension ladder. They were treated on scene for smoke inhalation and were taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service.
The Brigade was called at 1252 and the incident was under control by 1338. Fire crews from Ilford, Barking and Stratford fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is accidental.
