Islington - maisonette fire

Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a block of flats on Earlsferry Way in Islington this morning.

Half of a ground floor and first floor split level maisonette was damaged by fire. Three people left the property before the Brigade arrived and were treated on scene by London Ambulance Service for smoke inhalation. London Ambulance Service also treated two adults and a child from an adjacent property on the scene for smoke inhalation.

The Brigade was called at 1031 and the incident was under control by 1112.  Fire crews from Islington, Euston, Holloway and Kentish Town were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is accidental.
