Feltham – burst water main

Firefighters dealt with a 10 inch water main that burst on Bedfont Road in Feltham this morning. The road flooded to a depth of half a metre covering an area of 500 square metres.

Station Manager Alan Brand who was at the scene, said: “Fire crews checked around 100 properties that were at risk from the flood water. Water had entered a garage but thankfully no homes were affected and the water began receding naturally."

A number of road closures were in place at the time of the incident  in and around Bedfont Road and motorists were advised to avoid the area .” 

The Brigade was called at 0426 and the incident was over for firefighters at 0824 when it was handed over to the utility companies and the local authority. Five fire engines and 25 firefighters from Feltham, Twickenham and Heston fire stations were at the scene.
