Two fire engines and 14 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a flat in Queens Lane in Hornsey.

wo fire engines and 14 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a flat in Queens Lane in Hornsey.

Part of a flat on the third floor of the building was damaged by fire.

One man was rescued by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and he was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews. Sadly he later died in hospital;.

The Brigade was called at 0719 and the fire was under control at 0858. Two fire engines from Hornsey fire station attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
