Islington - flat fire spreads to roof

Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a flat fire on Porter Square in Islington on Sunday evening (28 May).

Part of a four roomed flat on the second floor of the three storey block was damaged by the fire. Half of the building’s roof was also affected by the blaze. One man was treated on the scene and he was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service suffering from smoke inhalation.

The Brigade was called at 2102 and the fire was under control by 2241. Crews from Kentish Town and Hornsey fire stations attended the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
