Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a house fire on Alberta Road in Enfield EN1 during the early hours of this morning.
The ground floor of the two storey terraced property was badly damaged. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus found a woman on the ground floor. She was sadly confirmed dead at the scene.
The Brigade was called at 0133 and the fire was under control at 0310. Crews from Enfield and Edmonton fire stations attended the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
