Hampton - fire at care home

Six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a residential care home in Bramble Lane, Hampton in the early hours of this morning.

Part of the ground floor and part of the external soffit were damaged by fire. An adjoining bin store was completely damaged by fire.

Approximately 33 people were evacuated from the property as a precaution by the Brigade and Metropolitan Police Service.

The Brigade was called at 0107 and the fire was under control at 0317. Fire crews from Twickenham, Feltham and Heston fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
