Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a flat fire on Homerton Road in Hackney yesterday afternoon (Sunday 11 June).
The fire damaged around a quarter of the flat and one woman left the property before the Brigade arrived. She was suffering from smoke inhalation and was treated on the scene by London Ambulance Service.
The Brigade was called at 1507 and the fire was under control by 1626. Crews from Homerton, Leyton, Leytonstone and Bethnal Green fire stations attended the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
