Erith - fire in derelict hall

Six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a derelict hall in West Street in Erith.

Part of the hall was damaged by fire. Three people were evacuated from a neighbouring property as a precaution. There were no reports of any injuries.

The Brigade was called at 1858 and the fire was under control at 2054. Fire crews from Bexley, Erith and Plumstead fire stations, along with Kent Fire and Rescue Service, attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
