Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a fire on a building site on Prestons Road in Canary Wharf.
Various building materials were damaged by fire.
The Brigade was called at 1402 and the fire was under control at 1614. Fire crews from Poplar, East Greenwich and Plaistow fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
