Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a recycling facility in Twelvetrees Crescent in Bromley-by-Bow.
One tonne of recycling waste and a shredding and bailing unit were damaged by fire.
The Brigade was called at 1626 and the fire was under control at 1738. Fire crews from Homerton, Shadwell, Whitechapel and Leytonstone attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
