Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers dealt with a flat fire on Pavilon Terrace in Wood Lane last night.

Half of a flat on the second floor was damaged by the blaze and fire crews managed to stop the fire spreading to surrounding properties.

A man and a woman left the affected flat before the Brigade arrived. A further man and a woman also left the block. All were uninjured.

The Brigade was called at 2117 and the fire was under control by 2156. Firefighters from North Kensington, Kensington and Paddington fire stations attended the scene. The cause of the fire is believed to have been caused by an extension lead that was plugged into another extension lead in a practice known as ‘daisy chaining’.
