Four fire engines and 21 firefighter and officers were called to a house fire on Russell Road in Southgate.
Part of the first floor of the end of terraced house was damaged by fire. One man left the property before the arrival of the Brigade and was treated for smoke inhalation by London Ambulance Service crews before being taken to hospital.
The Brigade was called at 0743 and the fire was under control at 0904. Fire crews from Southgate, Tottenham and Hornsey fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage
