Islington - fire at a restaurant

Six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a restaurant with flats above in Upper Street in Islington.

Part of the first floor store room was damaged by fire. Part of the flat roof of a neighbouring property was also damaged in the blaze.

Five people left the properties before the arrival of the Brigade. There were no reports of any injuries.

The Brigade was called at 0319 and the fire was under control at 0504. Fire crews from Islington, Shoreditch, Euston, Holloway and Soho fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
