Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a bungalow fire in Erith this afternoon
Crews wearing breathing apparatus rescued a woman from the front room of the property and around half of the bungalow's kitchen was damaged in the blaze. The woman was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service suffering from smoke inhalation.
The Brigade was called at 1605 and the fire was under control by 1704. Crews from Erith, East Greenwich and Plumstead fire stations were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
