Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a community centre in Westhorne Avenue in Eltham.
Part of a kitchen on the ground floor of the building was damaged by fire. Approximately 30 people left the premises before the arrival of the Brigade.
The Brigade was called at 1053 and the fire was under control at 1127. Fire crews from Eltham, Lee Green, Plumstead and East Greenwich fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
