Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a supermarket on Central Road in Worcester Park in the early hours of this morning.
A small part of a ground floor storeroom was damaged in the blaze. Seven residents from the flats above the supermarket were evacuated as a precaution. No injuries are reported.
The Brigade was called at 0145 and the incident was under control by 0255. Fire crews from Sutton, New Malden and Surbiton fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
