Firefighters rescued a horse called Jed from a ditch on Joel Street in Northwood last night (Thursday).

The farm horse had fallen into the stream and it is believed that it had been there for a few hours before the Brigade was called.

Fire crews from Ruislip and Wembley made sure the horse was secure and used winches to lift the horse out of the ditch.

Thirty-three year old Jed was checked over by a vet and was visited the following day by Ruislip firefighters.

The Brigade was called at 1744 and the incident was under control by 1814.
