Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers dealt with a road working machine fire on Lea Bridge Road in Leyton this morning.
The Brigade’s control centre received ten 999 calls as smoke could be seen for miles around.
The Brigade was called at 1304 and the fire was under control by 1501. Fire crews from Homerton, Stoke Newington and Leyton fire stations attended the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
