Brixton - fire in railway arch

Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a railway arch on Ferndale Road in Brixton last night.

A resident living nearby saw smoke coming from the building and called the Brigade. Half of the industrial unit in the railway arch was damaged by fire.

The Brigade was called at 2326 and the incident was over by 0021.  Fire crews from Brixton, Clapham and Peckham fire stations were at the scene.

The cause of this fire is under investigation.
