Six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers were called to a fire in a building, which included a shop and flats, on Park Parade in Harlesden this morning

Station Manager Jerome Kumedzina said: "The fire affected a large part of the building’s ground floor and first floor and our crews worked incredibly hard to get it under control.

"We will remain at the scene for some time damping down any remaining hot spots. Park Parade is still cordoned off while we continue to deal with the incident so motorists should avoid the area."

Two women left the building before the Brigade arrived and they were treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service.

The Brigade was called at 0738 and the fire was under control at 0919. Crews from Park Royal, North Kensington, Acton and Wembley fire stations are at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
