Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a fire in a shop’s basement on New Bond Street in Mayfair this afternoon.
Part of the basement was damaged by the fire. Crews led four people to safety from the first floor offices above the shop.
The Brigade was called at 1522 and the fire was under control by 1610. Fire crews from Euston, East Greenwich, Lambeth and Soho fire stations were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
