Firefighters were praised by a Hounslow resident for containing a bin storage area blaze from affecting their flat. Around 10 bins and a motor cycle were destroyed by the fire on Bath Street yesterday morning.

Local resident Ryan John Smith took to Twitter to thank London Fire Brigade. He said:

“Thank you @LondonFire for getting to our fire so quickly and saving our home. The block is very shaken but firefighters were there in less than 2 minutes.”

Residents self evacuated from the block before fire crews arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.

The Brigade was called at 1057 and the fire was under control by 1154. Feltham, Twickenham and Heston fire stations attended the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
