Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a flat fire on Queens Crescent in Kentish Town this afternoon.

When fire crews arrived they found a fully developed fire in the living room. Firefighters contained the fire to the room but there was heavy smoke logging throughout. The resident had made attempts to put the fire out before calling the Brigade.

London Fire Brigade spokesperson said:

“It appears that the resident tried to put the fire out before calling the Brigade. If you ever notice a fire in your home please get out, stay out and call 999.”

The Brigade was called at 1643 and the fire was under control by 1742. Firefighters from Kentish Town and Paddington fire stations attended the incident. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
