Ilford - house fire

Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at two derelict houses in Riverdene Road, Ilford this morning.

The roof and first floor of one of the semi-detached houses were gutted by the blaze, and part of  its ground floor was also damaged. The roof of the neighbouring house was destroyed.

The Brigade was called at 0059 and the fire was under control at 0239. Fire crews from Ilford, Stratford, East Ham and Barking fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
