Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a fire in Burnt Oak Broadway, Edgware.
Part of a stairwell from the ground floor shop to the first floor flat was damaged by fire
The Brigade was called at 0907 and the fire was under control at 0944. Fire crews from Stanmore, Mill Hill and Hendon fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
