Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a pumping station in Abbey Lane, Stratford.
Approximately 10 metres of high voltage electrical cables in a sub surface sewer chamber were damaged by fire.
The Brigade was called at 1155 and the fire was under control at 1336. Fire crews from Poplar, Leytonstone, Bethnal Green and Homerton fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
