Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a block of flats in Exeter Way, New Cross.
Part of a flat on the first floor of the building was damaged by fire.
The Brigade was called at 0727 and the fire was under control at 0749. Fire crews from New Cross, Deptford, Greenwich and Lewisham fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police Service.
