Firefighters helped a family after a tree fell onto their home on Augustus Road in Wimbledon.
The fifteen metre poplar tree fell from a neighbouring garden onto the semi detached house. Fire crews comforted the family who were shaken but thankfully uninjured.
London Fire Brigade spokesperson said:
“Firefighters role and training covers much more than just fires. As the home owner said it was a miracle that no one was injured. Fire crews worked with a structural engineer and tree surgeon to make the scene safe.”
The Brigade was called at 2050 and the incident was over by 2219. Firefighters from Wandsworth, Fulham and Battersea fire stations.
