Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a house fire on Canterbury Avenue in Ilford yesterday evening.
Part of a terraced house was damaged by the blaze. The fire occurred in the loft conversion under construction.
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental, due to an electrical fault.
The Brigade was called at 1924 and the fire was under control by 2111. Fire crews from Ilford, Stratford and Leytonstone fire stations attended the scene.
