Fulham - firefighters rescue cats from fire

A man escaped and firefighters rescued two cats after a blaze broke out in a flat on Waterford Road in Fulham, SW6, this morning. A flat on the sixth floor of a 12 storey building was partly damaged by fire.

The Brigade was called at 1003 and the fire was under control by 1050.

Four fire engines and twenty firefighters from Fulham, Chelsea, Kensington and Battersea fire stations were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
